Many people need to learn the art of conversation. If talking to people, especially if conversing for the first time scares you, then, it is time you learn small talk tips. After learning about those tips, you'll definitely know how to talk with confidence.

Not everyone view talking to people as an easy or fun activity. There are definitely a lot of us who need to know how to talk with confidence. If you need lessons on the art of conversation, specifically on how you can start a conversation, then, you're lucky as this article discusses several small talk tips that can transform you from a non conversationalist to an expert conversationalist.

Avoid Asking About The Weather

Asking a person about the day's weather is the usual way some people start their conversation. That question, however, is not that stimulating, and would not lead to a longer talk. When you're talking to people about the weather, it is best that you start of with: 'It's really hot outside; it's a good thing the air conditioner in this office makes it feel like North Pole here.' Or you can say: 'Have you heard about the heat wave in (name of country)? I sure hope that it doesn't happen here.'

If you follow this advice when it comes to using the weather as a conversation starter, you'll realize that it is indeed one of the answers to the concern of how to talk with confidence.

Say Something About The Other Person's Clothes, Hair Color, And So On

Another technique of the art of conversation, or one of the small talk tips that you should try is to comment on the other person's clothing, a piece of jewellery, an accessory, and the likes. You can complement a person on his or her nice top, unique jewellery, etc. Talking to people by asking about that person's stuff, where it was bought, who gave it, and so on, is definitely recommended as that will make you come off as an observant person, and is also part of the list of solutions to the problem of how to talk with confidence.

Mention Current Events

One of the secrets in the art of conversation is to also mention about the latest news, gossip, and the likes. Of course, this means that you have to make reading news papers, magazines, watching news on the television, and so on, a habit, so that you can use information from them in your conversations with others.

Other small talk tips include: talking about yours or that person's favorite TV series or movies; asking the other person what he or she loves doing as a hobby; asking about that person's career; among others.
