Are you looking to organize an upcoming, major sports event? We all know that promotion is the key to success. Everyone has seen television and heard radio advertising promoting these upcoming major events. However, with ever increasing hours in the workplace for many people, the number of hours spent in front of a television or listening to a radio may be decreasing. New forms of advertising are being introduced.
One new form of advertising we have probably all seen are the introduction of silicone wristbands and bracelets. A few "notorious" examples are the Livestrong and breast cancer awareness bracelets. These are catchy ways to advertise, because many people see them throughout the day and ask the person wearing them what they are about. Every time a customer purchases one of these bracelets, the money is donated to a fund to research cures for a disease. Imagine how well they could work for promoting a big sports event. People could wear a bright silicone bracelet with the name of a sporting event and people would ask what it was and when it was going to be. This would be an excellent way to promote the event.
Another great way to advertise a big sports event is using the internet. Most people today use the internet to read the news and find all the importan
t information they need. There are two types of internet advertising you can use - the free internet advertising and the one you need to pay for. The first one takes more time, and the second one can be rather expensive. If you are organizing a big sports event you want to use both of these types of advertising. Naturally, you should start the free advertising campaign first, and depending on its results, you can spend some additional funds on the paid internet advertising. You can deal with the free internet marketing yourself, however if you are busy, you can hire someone to do this for you. Some of the techniques of free internet marketing are posting about the festival on sports forum (this usually works best if you write about sportspeople or sports disciplines, and then mention the event), asking people who write blogs on sports to mention your sports event, writing about the event in the comments of sports blogs, or writing a blog of your own, creating a group and an event on Facebook, writing about the event in existing groups that have to do with sports, and so on. This kind of marketing can bring a lot of attention to your event. Paid marketing includes creating an attractive website with quality and useful content, placing attractive and colourful banners on popular websites and paying professional bloggers to write about your event.
Good luck promoting your big sports event!
