Website traffic means sales - plain and simple. The problem many new internet marketers have is getting traffic. This is why many never make money online - and give up on ever doing so. And, this is a shame because there is tons of money to be made online. But, many quit before they ever see the fruits of their labor. So this doesn't happen to you, following are three things you can do to achieve internet marketing success when it comes to getting more web traffic.
Internet Marketing Success Tip No. 1 That Increases Web Traffic
Answer Reader Questions: Web visitors who are serious about buying something often do copious research. According to According to a Nielsen Rating survey, over 90% of web surfers and serious buyers visit some type of web portal, search engine and/or community/review every month.
What are these potential buyers looking for? Information; information on which to make a sound buying decision.
What better way to give it to them than to answer questions they may have. So, one of the things I did on my main freelance writing website, Inkwell Editorial, is to answer questions that site visitors send in.
As I sell ebooks on/about freelance writing, by answering questions that readers have sent in - in detail - on the site, it not only demonstrates to that particular person that I know my business, it also helps others who may have the same question/problem.
This makes the site "content rich" with in-depth answers to a plethora of questions potential buyers may have. So, visitors come back again and again. This leads to sales in two ways: (i) the more a person visits your site, the more likely they are to make a purchase; and (ii) it attracts new visitors because when your site is filled with good information, visitors will refer others to it via social media, in their newsletters, on their blogs/websites, etc.
Internet Marketing Success Tip No. 2 That Increases Web Traffic
Interact on Social Media: While internet marketing experts generally agree that - to date - social media doesn't deliver direct sales, they pretty much agree that it should be a part of every online marketer's advertising strategy because potential customers expect to find you there.
So, I got proactive with social media. Specifically, I chose a social media outlet I knew I would keep up with (Twitter) and started interacting regularly, as in daily.
As a matter of course, I don't really enjoy being plugged in on so many levels, eg, Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, LinkedIn, et al. I chose Twitter because as it only gives you 140 within which to craft a message, it's relatively easy to fit into my schedule.
As of this writing, I have close to 8,000 followers on Twitter. And from the emails, RTs and uptick in sales I've seen, I can say without a doubt that this marketing strategy has paid off.
Internet Marketing Success Tip No. 3 That Increases Web Traffic
Put My Nose to the Grindstone: I'd have to say this is the one thing I've done that's been the most effective - I just hunkered down and focused on churning out great content, which is the foundation of internet marketing success to a large degree.
So, when I sit down to compose a post for my site, I don't worry about how long or short it is, whether what I'm saying goes against "accepted freelance writing wisdom," whether or not it'll ruffle some feathers, etc. I just write from my heart until I feel like I've given the best info I can about a particular topic and then hit "publish."
Internet marketing success - especially when it comes to getting more website traffic - is simple. Notice I said "simple," not easy. There's a difference. As stated in the beginning of this article, many new internet marketers don't hang around long enough - and work a laid-out plan (this is key) - to experience success. This is the key difference between those who achieve success and those who don't.
