Many people aspire to a career in the law - and then there are those who actually got to work in a law office. Many then find that there isn't anything philosophically glamorous about legal affairs. It isn't a matter of debating right and wrong then, but which rule applies where and when. And because the rules can change, lawyers, like other professionals, will have to take online CPE courses to stay on top of them. This means, in effect, going to school for the rest of one's life!
In fact, such continuing education (the "CPE" in "online CPE courses" stands for "continuing professional education") is necessary for the vast majority of professions that require state licensing. In addition to lawyers, doctors, accountants, and those who work with them are subject to some kind of on-going education, whether by the state or by professional associations that govern the field.

red in terms of credits (yes, just like in school). Thus, a requirement may be for a professional to have earned three credits within two years, with those three credits being fulfilled by any number of course offerings. In the case of a lawyer, for example, he or she may elect to study tax law or housing law for two credits and one credit, respectively.
For those that aspire to the professions, continuing education will be just another fact of life, thanks to the ever increasing level of complexity that new developments bring to bear on the field. Thankfully, it's all available online now, making for unprecedented convenience!
Just something else to do, right? Life-long study. It's not hard if you're into your field, your career - but for many for whom it's just a job, beware! Continuing education will drive you nuts. After all, certain fields like the law are already notorious for having low job satisfaction ratings by its practitioners! It's hard to imagine that someone will be able to devote so much effort into something they couldn't care less about - unless they were sociopaths! As with much else in life, honesty is the best policy: honesty with oneself.
Be certain, every day, that you enjoy your work!
