Both LinkedIn and Corplook allow users to create a profile that provides name and contact information, a description of that person or company's specialties, and links to any other sites the user may have. Furthermore, a user may give "Updates" describing what he or she is doing, which are good for announcing a new company feature or career milestone. If someone would like to contact the user after seeing his or her profile, there is a message feature on both sites that allows for direct conversation.
One of the highlights on the profile on LinkedIn is that a user can receive and display recommendations from other users. Users of Corplook, though, may like or dislike another user and leave comments on their profile (about either the business itself or updates in its feed). This is a great way to communicate with customers and associates, and allows the business owner to see how the company is doing.
Both sites also let users contact and "add" each other, allow
Finally, there is a search feature on both sites that lets a user look for specific things. On LinkedIn, this search stays within the site, allowing someone to find other users, companies, answers, and job listings that have been posted on LinkedIn. On Corplook, the search is expanded to include anything that has been posted on the internet. Additionally, when the results of a search are shown, a map to the desired company or person is given alongside its search result.
As mentioned earlier, there are some innovations and improvements provided by Corplook that cannot be found on LinkedIn. One of them is the ability to post documents, photos, and videos to a user's page. This feature lets users literally show off what they have done. Another new feature on this site is the Discussion Forum. Here, people may ask questions, trade ideas, and take part in serious debate about different topics. Finally, Corplook places great emphasis on strong privacy and sharing systems, giving users far greater control over their information than on other networking sites.
LinkedIn has been around for several years, and has proven to be an effective tool for professional social networking. When Corplook is released, it will allow companies to establish themselves within the community, and be a great avenue for businesses and associates to connect with each other.
