More often than not people who spend their time toiling in dirt don't know the first thing about the internet. Usually they will assume the internet to be useless when it comes to matters of nature, but that is a misconception.
The great blessing of inter-connected networking via computers has allowed a treasure trove of information to be bestowed among anyone and everyone. Nowadays you do not even need a hardwire connection, just get some Wi-Fi and shoot yourself into the clouds.
Gardening is practiced predominantly as a hobby, but there are exact techniques and routines that can be performed for maximum growth. Like anything else gardening can be broken down into a science, all the way down to the nitrogen, phosphorous and potassium.
A lot of people think plants just grow from water and sunlight. That is like saying people just develop muscle from just plain exercise and rest.
Now to gain muscle you do need both exercise and rest, but like plants, you also need to have nutrients. Because plants are so much more of a simplistic organism than humans they only need simple nutrients.
Thanks to the internet you can simply type a phrase or qu
estion into a search bar and find millions of results pleading to answer. Finding what kind of soil and what type of nutrient deprivations you may have will be extremely beneficial when trying to grow new plants that have not been cultivated yet.
Along with nutrients it is imperative that you know the pH of your soil. This is the hydrogen level of the soil.
Some soils are going to be more acidic and other more alkaline, for plants this is like fish in fresh or salt water. There are acidic plants and there are alkaline plants, trying to grow them out of their element will be counterproductive.
Use a quick search to find out what type of soil your area has doing this will help you amend your soil if necessary. If you have acidic soil you will want to get sulfur or lime to make it more alkaline; conversely, if you have alkaline soil you will want to get ashes to make it more acidic.
First look up whether the plants you are growing are going to be acidic or alkaline plants, then amend your soil accordingly. The internet is a blessing especially for people born with a green thumb.
Just try not to get dirt all over your key board. Using the World Wide Web will help you grow a garden that is better than anything you could have ever dreamed.
