Niche Marketing explained. When I first got interested in the possibility of making money via the internet, I had no idea what everyone was talking about when they said that you need to find a Niche and if you can get one and it takes the internet by a storm you will make a lot of money.

Niche marketing became the rage about three months ago and all the top internet marketers started promoting niche marketing. So what exactly is a Niche? A Niche is a very small corner and that is exactly what Niche Marketing means, getting a small corner of a big market and selling it to people who only want this special product.

As an example lets take a big market like Pets and lets break it down into Dogs, Cats, Fish, Food, Training and of course there's lots more.

Now let's take Dogs and break that down into Training, Breeding, Feeding and again lets break breeding down into breeds. So what breed is very popular? Boxers are very high on the list and then we have the Labradors, Collies and Alsatians, all very popular types. Now we can concentrate on one breed to begin with.

Lets say Labradors, E-books or books on the subject can be used, feeding Labradors, training Labradors, training Labrador puppies, teach your Labrador tricks, all of these are niche's that will interest certain types of people. They could be crazy about the subject, been given a Labrador puppy as a present, will only have Labradors and no other dog. Loves to show of how well trained their Labrador is and so on. With a bit of imagination you can hunt around and find many more niches or you could do the same for another breed.

Niche marketing can be extremely cost-effective and is all about leverage. You can use your niche to leverage your position in the marketplace beyond where you would have been without the niche. By concentrating on the clients that are interested in a particular Niche you get the added benefit of maybe gaining clients who would not have normally signed up with you.

Each particular niche will have its own list of people who will buy as many of the same type of products because you are focusing on people who want that particular product. Even if you have a list of 100 names it can be very profitable because they are all buyers at some time or the other.

Niche marketing is a great way to earn an honest living online. It's not only rewarding from a financial point of view but also from a personal satisfaction perspective. Now for it to become really profitable a lot of research must be done and researching a market is time consuming and not easy especially for the beginner let alone someone who does it all the time. Yet the more one studies this type of marketing the better one will become at it.

The best suggestion that I can give to a beginner is to start advertising via Article Marketing which is the most cost effective why of marketing. Also if the research is not done well then all the advertising in the world will not help and this is usually where most people loose a lot of money especially if they decided to advertise with Google's Pay-Per-Clicks known as PPC's.

Niche marketing is a low risk activity as long as certain essentials are kept in mind. You must do a lot of research so that you can leverage your position in the marketplace and also reach clients that you would normally miss because of their lack of interest in your original product. So one Niche will not be enough, you need many Niche's which will take you beyond where you would have been without the niche.

I know it seems like a lot of work, but it is definitely worth it. There are many ways to learn this type of marketing and how to use shortcuts that will help quicken the process. Once you get the idea the only thing stopping you will be the boundaries of your imagination.
